Avaya IP Office Compatibility Matrix with Nortel M, T, and IP Phones

Wondering whether your old Nortel Norstar or BCM phone set will work on the Avaya IP Office Release 7?

The Avaya IP Office Release 7 introduced the capability of supporting the old Nortel M and T series phones, and as expected, many customers will be migrating from the older Norstar and BCM phone systems and bringing some or all of their sets over to the Avaya IP Office. Avaya has a matrix which outlines both the phone set compatibility and features when migrating from a Norstar, BCM to the IP Office. The functionality of the M and T series phones won't necessarily work as they once did on the Norstar or BCM, and many of the Feature codes formerly used on the Norstar may, or may not continue to function. As such, some of the information as outlined below will help explain what still works, what doesn't work, and what still works but with a different level of functionality. Phone Sets: When migrating from the Norstar or BCM it appears that most of the phones will continue to function on the Avaya IP Office, but with a different level of functionality. Below you will notice the phone set type, and next to the set you will notice some caveats (if any): M7100 M7100N M7208 global bottom button is dedicated HF M7208N bottom button is dedicated HF M7310 global bottom right button is dedicated HF M7310 global + BLF module bottom right button is dedicated HF M7310N bottom left button is dedicated HF M7324 global bottom right button is dedicated HF M7324N bottom right button is dedicated HF 1120E IP Deskphone Text & Icon version, firmware will be updated to SIP, sets cannot be reversed to Unistim FW after the SIP FW has been installed 1140E IP Deskphone Text & Icon version, firmware will be updated to SIP, sets cannot be reversed to Unistim FW after the SIP FW has been installed 1100 Series Expansion Module In IP Office, all expansion modules can have line appearance; no differentiation between CAP and Enhanced CAP; IP Office supports a maximum of 1024 buttons on expansion modules (programmed and un-programmed) - the maximum is combined for IP and digital sets expansion modules 1220 IP Deskphone 1230 IP Deskphone 1200 Series Expansion Module - 12 Keys Display, 18 Key paper - In IP Office all expansion modules can have line appearance; no differentiation between CAP and Enhanced CAP; IP Office supports a maximum of 1024 buttons on expansion modules (programmed and un-programmed) - the maximum is combined for IP and digital sets expansion modules Digital Mobility Controller 080 (NA) Digital Mobility Controller 320 (NA) Digital Mobility Controller 081 (Intl) Digital Mobility Controller 321 (Intl) Digital Mobility Handset 7430 Digital Mobility Handset 7434 Digital Mobility Handset 7440 Digital Mobility Handset 7444 Digital Mobility Handset 4135 Digital Mobility Handset 4145 Digital Mobility Handset 4136 Digital Mobility Handset 4146 Digital Mobility Handset 4145Ex T7406 T7406E The sets below are NOT supported on IP Office:.
